Individuality for sale

Here at AQ Bottled Water, bespoke is what we do. We design personalised labels which suit your brand and look great on a water bottle. But it seems we’re not the only ones focusing on individuality just at the moment.

With the launch of the new Not On The High Street Christmas advert (more on Christmas adverts next week) over the last few days, not to mention the numerous catalogues, plus the quirky telescope gift in this year’s John Lewis ad, it seems that individuality is the thing this shopping season.

Spooktacular Halloween Marketing

Spooktacular Halloween Marketing

As purveyors of bespoke, own label branding solutions, we always like to keep an eye on big brand marketing ideas. This week, what else could we look at but Halloween themed content?

In no particular order, here are three of our favourites this year!

1. Tesco’s Spookermarket campaign, plus follow-up recipe videos. Fun, silly and on-brand, this campaign had it all.

2. Burger King’s Halloween Burger. Such a distinctive burger design, simple, but memorable.

3. Starbuck’s Vampire Frappuccino. Equal parts campaign and special edition product, caffeine drinking Halloween fans couldn’t wait to get their hands on this seasonal treat – see the photo at …

Here’s an idea…

Here’s an idea…

Here at AQ Bottled Water, we’re always on the look out for fun new ideas for your personalised water bottles.

This week, whilst on our travels, we spotted these on the table of a street-side pub.

Here, they’ve used existing, branded bottles for their table centre piece. But, naturally, we can’t help but think how great this would look with own label water bottles?

Particularly if you run a hotel, and have flowers in vases on your restaurant table tops – why not consider something like this instead?

Your tables will look great, and be on-brand too!

Good news for the environment, bad news for brands

Good news for the environment, bad news for brands

Here at AQ we know our polyethylene terephthalate. This week, legislation was introduced to England which ruled that from now on, shoppers would be charged 5p per plastic shopping bag.

Generally hailed as being a bit of a nuisance but good news for the environment, we couldn’t help but stop to consider the impact on brands. Whether your business is large or small, giving your customers a carrier bag with your name on is a great way to promote your brand. Your brand, in your customer’s hand, as we often say here.

But no bags, or at least with far fewer around, …

Brand Association

Brand Association

Here at AQ Bottled Water, when we’re not putting together the latest water bottle label design, we like to keep an eye on interesting marketing and branding techniques across the industry.

This week, we’re thinking of Autumn products and their marketing. The most obvious one which springs (or perhaps falls) to mind these days is, of course, the Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte, or PSL. We’ve talked about it before here. Its success as a product is based largely on the strong emotional association with Autumn that it has cultivated over the past couple of years. For many consumers, it simply isn’t …

Don’t leave your guests guessing – bottled water for the hotel industry

Don’t leave your guests guessing – bottled water for the hotel industry

Here at AQ Bottled Water, we don’t need to be told twice about how useful branded bottled water can be for your business. But in this week’s blog post, we want to specifically look at how bottled water could be useful for the hotel industry.

Many hotels these days provide a whole host of branded items for their guests, from shampoo, to showercaps to dressing gowns. These look great, and certainly all help with branding. There’s one problem with this, however. Most of these items (in the majority of cases at least!) stay in the hotel room.

This means that your carefully …

How to make the most of festival marketing

How to make the most of festival marketing

With Glastonbury still in our minds, Latitude this weekend and many more ahead of us – the season of festival is officially here! As personalised bottled water providers, were always keeping an eye on new marketing opportunities for us and our clients – and festivals are no exception.

As the festival landscape has changed and developed, becoming more and more niche, as Tim Walsh, strategist at RPM says: “it is no longer enough just to show up.”

In order to tap in to the experience company, brands have to engage with potential customers, be in the moment, leave ‘sales mode’ at the …

Your brand, in your customer’s hand!

Your brand, in your customer’s hand!

During last week’s London tube strikes, the free newspaper, Metro, gave out free own-label, personalised water bottles to thirsty travellers.

Personalised water bottles are a great way of keeping your brand at the forefront of peoples’ minds. And in this recent heatwave, who doesn’t want a free drink of water?

It’s worth remembering, too, that lots of us re-use our water bottles these days, taking them to the gym and to work with us.

So don’t delay, get in touch with us and we’ll help you put your brand into your customer’s hand!

Instructions for a heatwave… if you’re a brand

Drinking your personalised bottled water may have been one way to keep cool during last week’s heatwave, and the hottest day of the year so far, but lots of brands were quick to jump on the #hottestdayoftheyear hashtag with their own ideas.

Here are a few of our favourite quick-off-the-mark marketing campaigns from brands last week:

Branding and the General Election

Unless you’ve been on a very, very long holiday on a remote island with no internet access, you’ll surely have picked up on a little upcoming event known as the General Election.

Wherever your voting allegiances lie, it’s worth considering the role played by the twin powers of branding and PR throughout all parties’ campaigns – you may even get a few ideas!

1. Eye-catching advertising. Whilst most parties and candidates try to have bright, appealing election posters, the prize here has to go to the campaigns dedicated to getting people to vote. This powerful campaign was our favourite.

2. Publicity stunts. …
